Noah Starer's Burnished Vessels are individual, free-standing sculptures that can be grouped according to the collector's own design. Their striking colors are produced by a process called saggar firing, wherein each shape is wrapped in organic matter, enclosed in tin foil and stacked in a kiln. These forms aren't glazed: the colors are the result of spontaneous chemical reactions that happen between the clay, the organic materials and the heat of the kiln. Each piece is entirely unique, so dimensions and colors vary. Sold individually.
